PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given to residents and ratepayers about current 2022 Flood Fighting and Recovery Efforts as follows:
1. Our Emergency Operations Center (EOC) remains open with hours of operations of being 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM daily until at least May 24th, 2022. EOC Phone Number is 204-746-3439.
2. EVACUEES – for those residents that have been evacuated from their properties, the EOC Team will be contacting you by phone or email when they receive information, from the flood repair team, that your roads are once again safe to travel on to access your properties.
3. Private Property Claims – Claim Forms are available at https://forms.gov.mb.ca/dfa-application/ .
If there are rural properties that are concerned about debris in the municipal ditches or on roadways, we would ask that you take photos that include locations and dates and forward them to floodrepair@rmofmorris.ca. If you are concerned about the ditch debris and are thinking about cleaning it up, please contact Rosella at the RM Office at 204-746-7300 prior to attempting any cleanup.=
Council and Staff of the Rural Municipality of Morris has been meeting regularly and has been working diligently during the emergency event and now during repair operations. We have engaged WSP Engineering to assess our damaged sites and coordinate the repairs. Recovery from this flood event is a high priority for us.
